This outlook employs multiple statistical models and human analysis to make long-term Santa Ana wind season forecasts for Southern California. The models and analysis are built from 38 years of high resolution historical meteorological data. This outlook forecasts above normal, near normal or below normal Santa Ana wind day counts for each month and season.
